Annual meeting wrap-up

During the annual meeting, held Aug. 1, 2009, the following people were elected to the board by a quorum of members: Glen Post (re-elected as president); Gary Mohnkern, and Dan Shippy.

With 57 voting members present, the budget for next year was also approved.

Various topics were discussed during the session, including the fact that the lake will need to be lowered up to four feet when Columbia County decides to replace the Fishhawk Bridge next spring. Plans are for it to be lowered for three-four weeks, with the timing being decided by Columbia County . The lake will provide as much notice to members as possible.

Also discussed was the surplus of boats that were abandoned after the flood. The boats, including 2 pedal boats and one row boat, have been lodged at the maintenance building. On Saturday, August. 16, they were sold to interested members, generating $175 that will be added to the general fund.
